Painting

My love of painting began the Christmas when I was eleven. Santa left me a paint set complete with wooden  box, oils, canvases, easel and instruction book. (I still have the easel and paint box. )  I also paint in  water colour, egg tempera, acrylic. On my list to try next are casein and paper marbling.

Finally I worked my way out of that silly shell

Acrylic

This is the first painting for a children’s story called "Saga of a flightless bird".  I had been working on a series of sunsets and into my head popped: " Finally, I worked my way out of that silly shell." And so the first painting came to be, and then three more. And the story wrote itself that way. Without my permission.

The Far Shore

Acrylic

Early one morning I took a walk while visiting friends who live along the parkway in the near Brockville and saw this scene. So very watery. It spoke of summer, relaxation and lazy curiosity about what might be on the far shore.
